I left academia in 2019 with an M.A. in Russian history from the University of Pennsylvania. Before deciding to leave the university, my research focused on the social and cultural exchanges that developed between Russia and England through trade in the 16th and 17th centuries. Before that, I received two bachelors’ degrees from UMBC, one in History and one in Economics, and combined those two areas of study as an undergraduate research assistant on a project investigating the economic efficiency of Russian serfdom. Graduate research allowed me to marry my reading in economic history with religious and social history. The depth and breadth of my experience in these subjects across several different languages informs my editing approach.

Both in academia and out of it, I have leveraged fluency in Russian, German, Polish, and Old Church Slavonic in order to pursue research interests in economic analysis and Russian history. As a graduate student and as a teacher of ESL, I have lived and worked in Russia, Poland, the UK, and China, putting my language skills and subject knowledge to work in archives, in classrooms, and in writing. I have coached students both in the United States and abroad to improve their writing, to conduct research, and to get published.

As an editor, I bring my inside experience of the process of research, writing, and teaching to help authors develop their manuscripts for publication. I have helped researchers in the social sciences and humanities, as well as in engineering, econometrics, computer science, and mathematics to publish their work successfully.
